Happy Halloween!!!

I feel like I have been going crazy lately!!! I have so much on my plate and haven't had time to do what I like to do for fun which is Create Activities!!! While I am sitting at my house waiting for Trick-or-Treaters, I decided that I would make a quick activity. I plan to use this activity during RTI. One of the skills that we are required to test our students on is "Quantity Discrimination." This is just a quick little activity that you can use to reinforce or assess your students' knowledge of "Quantity Discrimination," and the best thing about it is that it is FREE!!! Happy Halloween everyone! Click Here for the activity.

M.I.A.

I apologize for not having made any posts in awhile. I have been missing my blog but I just haven't had any spare time to post or make anything. I have been working on some word work activities 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there, so eventually I will complete them. Between all the stuff that I am having to do for my corporations new RISE evaluations on top of my 2 graduate classes, I have absolutely ZERO free time. This week in my reading series, I am reading the story Life in and Ocean with my class. I created this little Ocean activity page for my students to work on during the Word Work portion of Daily 5 . It's nothing much but my kiddos really enjoyed doing it! Have a great rest of the week! Ocean Words Activity

Special Student Posters

Thinking about going back to school is driving me CRAZY!!! There is so much to do and not enough time!!! I usually do a "Special Student" each day, but this year I am going to change it to "Special Student of the Week." I created some posters that I am going to have each student fill out at home with their family. Once they are finished filling out and decorating their poster they will bring it back to school to share with the class. I am thinking about keeping each student's poster and putting them together to make a class book. However, I kind of want them to be able to keep their poster. Either way I will probably laminate them so that they will hold up better. You can purchase these posters at my Tpt Store.

A Rainbow of Activities (Language Arts & Math)

I love rainbows so I decided to create a "Rainbow Themed" packet of Language Arts and Math activities. I just finished this packet and recently added it to my TpT Store. This packet contains numerous of activities geared toward the Common Core Standards. This fun packet contains a total of 137 slides and works on approximately 20 different skills. These activity pages come in color & in black and white. I like to use these activities during center time or during small group work. There is a sample preview at my TpT Store. Just click on the link below to check it out!!!

Rainbow Name Tags

Well I apologize that I haven't posted anything for awhile but I have been extremely busy with grad school. Now I am finally finished with classes for a couple of weeks, but now school is getting ready to start back up again so I need to focus on getting my classroom organized and in order for the 2012-2013 school year! I can't believe it is already time to go back!! I am doing a rainbow theme in my classroom this year so I made some rainbow name tags to go a long with my theme. They turned out pretty cute! Click on the link below to purchase them at my Tpt store. I hope everyone is enjoying the little bit of summer that is left!

Summer???

Where has summer gone??? I can't believe it is already mid June!! I just got back from a wonderful vacation at Myrtle Beach and I am trying to get back into the swing of things. I wish school wasn't always on my mind, but it is. Oh well, I guess I should just deal with it. Here is a cute rhyming activity I wanted to share.

M-Class

My kindergarten team decided to use these profiles sheets this year to record our student data for M-Class. When the school year ended we put these data sheets in the students' Cumm. folders so that the first grade teachers would have access to them next year. We recorded each student's score for each test and then colored in the bubble under BOY, MOY, EOY to show whether they ended up red, yellow, or green. The first grade teachers liked these so much that they asked me to make a profile sheet for 1st grade. Because I love them so much I did! :-) Kindergarten Profile Sheet & First Grade Profile Sheet. I uploaded a picture of a partially completed profile sheet to show you as an example.

Number Practice

If your students need some extra practice with number formation here are a couple of number tracer pages. I like to laminate them so that my students can use them over and over again...then I don't have to keep making copies! Numbers 1-30 & Numbers 1-50

Word Work

Man I really need to go to bed but I am so obsessed with trying to get my blog up and running!!! I am trying to find things that I have made for my classroom that are helpful but that don't have a lot of clipart. I am still working on finding the right clipart licenses and I don't want to post anything that I could get in trouble for...that is my biggest fear!!! ANYHOO...here is a word work activity. You can have the students write the words or I have even used alphabet stamps. My students always seem more engaged when they use materials other than pencils. They like to use markers and colored pencils, but stamps were probably one of their favorites this year! Click here to purchase this packet at my TpT store. It includes 10 different word family activities.

ABC's

Here are some simple alphabet pages that I like to use at the beginning of the school year. I make several copies and laminate them. I let my students work on them if they finish their seatwork early. I also use these a lot with students who struggle to form their letters correctly. If you have little ones at home that are learning to write their letters these would be perfect for them to practice! Uppercase Alphabet Practice & Lowercase Alphabet Practice.

Name Tags

Here are some simple but useful Name Tags that I created. Nothing fancy but they serve the purpose. :-)

Math Games

Here is a sample of a math game that I use in my classroom. I laminate several copies and let the students use dry erase markers on them. I also have have used non-laminated versions and let the students use Bingo Daubers on them. They love the Bingo Daubers!!! I know that several people have used this game or created their own version so I don't really know who to give the original credit to. I think maybe Shari Sloane?? Anyway I have created some of my own and here is a sample. I am working on creating addition 1-10 but I got burnt out on #6 so I have to get remotivated to finish. For now here is a sample of Add 1 Cover Up. I created them in color and in black and white. Click on the link to download the document. Enjoy! :-) Add 1 Cover Up

Book Labels

Summer is finally here and I still find myself spending the majority of the day doing school stuff. I am taking two graduate courses right now that are keeping me pretty busy. It hasn't been that nice outside the past couple of days so I have been working in my classroom. I was sorting through my books and decided I needed some new labels. This is what I came up with so far. I am planning on putting these book labels in plastic name tag pouches (the cheapo ones that you can get at Walmart). I haven't tested them out yet so I hope that they are the right size. I will make some more labels later but I need to take a break because my house needs cleaned. Hopefully these are useful to someone other than just myself. :-) Book Labels

Entering The Blogging World!!!

Hi! My name is Amber Huber and I am a kindergarten teacher. This is my first experience with blogging so I am  not really sure how it is going to go. Hopefully I will get the hang of it quickly! I have read so many amazing, inspiring teacher blogs that encouraged me to try to create my own. We will see how this works but I am up for the challenge. I hope to have more posts soon!
